There are one too many zeroes in that price.

Nevermind. Thought it was a 996 and not a 993.

Still too high though

I should edit the title. Your (allegedly attempting to) selling a car for $235,000.

Only one pic, on CL, and no information? Scam! Flag it.

Better off selling on a specialty site that caters to cars like that.

When it’s like that, I feel it’s more “Look at this car when you search for them, that’s right, ‘I’ own it.”

You should edit the title to correct the usage of “your” instead of “you’re.” Not trying to be mean, common mistake.

I’ll be damned if I ever pay $235k for a freakin 993. Not even for a GT2.

Wanted to say CP, buuuut market research indicates $200k or so is what one can expect to get for a low mileage 911 Turbo from ‘97. Was that the last year they made them with air cooled engines or something?

Either way, it’s still a CP by about $30k or so, but not that far off.

MEGA CRACK PIPE.

I’d rather have a NEW 911 turbo that is as fast for $40,000 LESS... or this lightly used 2014 911 turbo (that is still faster than the one from 1997) for $100,000 less: now

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/…

Now the odd thing I’m seeing is when I check autotrader, other used 911 turbos from the same series (1995-1997) are selling for prices that are almost as crazy.

I don’t get it.

Why would anyone want to get an inferior model from over 15 years ago for more money than a new one?

It isn’t rare enough to be truly collectible and not old enough to be a classic.

EDIT: Apparently the 993 was the last of the air-cooled 911 models. So it’s the wealthy purists and dealers driving the prices up. I still say it’s a mega crack pipe.

Yep... I looked into it as well and I also think the prices are insane. And yeah... this is the last series that was air cooled... so it appeals to the purists.

I looked into it... and these (993-series 911) are commonly selling for the high $100k to low $200K range. Saw one on sale for $300K.

Absolutely insane.

Yeah, it’s the last of the air-cooled ones... so it appeals to purists.

But I’d rather buy a new one that is as fast or faster for less money and a warranty.
